| The Tropicale Amissa Bongo has regained its place at the top of the cycling news by returning to the roads of Woleu-Ntem in northern Gabon between Bitam and Oyem. The first stage today finished with the victory of Frenchman Geoffrey Soupe from the TotalEnergies team, who won in a sprint in a very eventful final where the professionals had to fight hard to overcome the African riders. Moroccan El Houcaine Sabbahi and Burkinabé Paul Daumont had started the race before being joined by Aurélien Achetkueyinyi (Cameroon) and Issiaka Cissé (Ivory Coast). The last survivor of this long breakaway Aurélien Achetkueyinyi was caught after 80 kilometres of racing. In the last 40 kilometres, the Spaniard Mario Aparicio (Burgos-BH) attacked and kept a good lead on the peloton of more than a minute. Geoffrey Soupe won the race in front of Belgian rider Louis Blouwe (Bingoal team) and Spaniard Antonio Angulo (Burgos-BH).
