The three-day meeting started on 16<sup>th<\/sup> May 2023 and concluded on 18<sup>th<\/sup> May 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the press conference with the media, Kolyang Paleb\u00e9l\u00e9, who is also the President of PAFO  (Organe repr\u00e9sentatif des Organisations Paysannes Africaines)  which is an Organ that represents farmers from the above mentioned Regions, said that some of the problems which farmers face result from climate change, the issue about loans to farmers from different countries, and lack of political will.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that if there happens to be political will and cooperation from different actors and a sustainable solutions to the existential threats, the problems would be addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/brightafrica.rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Photo-caraibe-5-1-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brightafrica.rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Photo-caraibe-5-1-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/brightafrica.rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Photo-caraibe-5-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brightafrica.rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Photo-caraibe-5-1-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/brightafrica.rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Photo-caraibe-5-1-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/brightafrica.rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Photo-caraibe-5-1-2048x1367.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>                                                                                              Kolyang Paleb\u00e9l\u00e9 the President of PAFO<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He had this to say, \u201cIf there was cooperation, we would register tangible development, thereby rendering the African citizens to enjoy improved livelihoods, hence acquiring reliable and sustainable development.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The climate change issue isn\u2019t only an African, it\u2019s a global phenomenon, Kolyang reiterated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with the media, the Director General in charge of planning in the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal husbandry Chantal Ingabire said that the problem regarding climate change is alarming, because it has given rise to un reliable rainfall patterns, whereby some parts receive little rain, whereas others experience droughts , and other parts characterized by diseases, caused by climate change .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said that climate change was one of the main problems which Rwandan peasant farmers face.&nbsp; She said, \u201cThough our country invests heavily in agriculture to mitigate farmers\u2019 problems, and for the sake of assisting them, we still face challenges about climate change.
